
INDIVIDUAL/EMERGENCY GRANTS - GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION
Individual grants are available to support individuals and families facing temporary hardship or urgent needs, improving quality of life and promoting stability.
Guidelines:
- Eligible Applicants (include, but are not limited to):
- Must be an active member of Ozark Electric Cooperative
- Demonstrated financial need or hardship
- Referral from a recognized organization (school, church, non-profit, or agency) preferred
- Eligible Uses (include, but are not limited to):
- Medical needs or emergency expenses
- Accessibility improvements - ramps, basic home modifications
- Essential living needs - necessary home repairs, utilities excluding electric (sewer, water, gas, trash)
- Education or job-related assistance
- Ineligible Uses (include, but are not limited to):
- Ongoing financial support
- Non-essential or luxury items
- Expenses already covered by insurance or other programs
- Electric utilities (including those provided by Ozark Electric Cooperative)
- Award Amount:
- Typically smaller, one-time assistance grants
- Amount determined based on need and available funds
- Selection Criteria:
- Urgency of need
- Verification of circumstances
- Potential for meaningful impact
- Administration:
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed on a quarterly schedule by the Board of Trustees
- Requests demonstrating urgent or emergent need may be reviewed outside of the standard cycle at the discretion of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees
- Confidential review process
- May involve partner agencies for verification
